PCAP

Priority Climate Action Plan

CCAP

Comprehensive Climate Action Plan

Through funding from the EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants Program, the Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is advancing a regional approach to climate action through the development of both a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) and Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). The PCAP identifies short-term, high-impact strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the six-county region.

The CCAP builds on the foundation laid by the PCAP and provides a long-term roadmap for resilience and sustainability. It takes a deeper dive into emissions data, community priorities, and implementation pathways to guide future investments and initiatives.

About CPRG

Climate Pollution Reduction Grants

The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program is a federal initiative administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Inflation Reduction Act. It provides funding to states, municipalities, tribal governments, and metropolitan areas to develop and implement comprehensive plans that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and harmful air pollution. The goal of the program is to support climate action at the local and regional levels through planning and implementation grants that advance clean energy, environmental justice, and resilient infrastructure.
